Bay Ridge's Seniors Comprise a NORC (Director/Producer)

With all of the changes happening throughout Brooklyn, cultural population migrations affect the personality and identity of neighborhoods each day. Despite the changes, Bay Ridge, Brooklyn has remained one of the most consistent. In fact, it's the most populous senior neighborhood of all five boroughs. This has resulted in it becoming a NORC: Naturally Occuring Retirement Community.

Bay Ridge Center has accommodated this population for 40 years, and offers activities, dining and other services for the older society, building community and support. However, the need for additional services is increasing.

This video is from BRIC TV— the first 24/7 television channel created by, for, and about Brooklyn. It is the borough's source for local news, Brooklyn culture, civic affairs, music, arts, sports, and technology. BRIC TV features programming produced and curated by BRIC, an arts and media nonprofit located in Downtown Brooklyn, NYC.
